The Chef is a minor character in Manhunt, who only appears at the end of the credits. The Chef is a strange-looking alien creature or robot, who is blue in color with yellow eyelids and appears to be flying on a tiny UFO. He has 3 fingers on each hand and pointy tube-like ears similar to Shrek. He's depicted wearing a chef’s hat alongside golden shoulder pads, while holding both a whisk and a bowl.
The Chef’s appearance slightly resembles Tex the Robot from the THX movie openings and could be the in-universe version of him (which would explain him appearing taped over a snuff film) or could even be from one of Starkweather’s old movies, as his prime would’ve most likey been in the 1980s when robots/aliens were really popular (like Johnny-5, E.T., and the Robot from Rocky 4).
The Chef could also be a newer variation of the domestobot seen during Vice City Stories (set in 1984, while Manhunt is set in 2003). There’s a rumor that the Chef says the cheat code to invincibility, which he doesn’t. Players most likey got this confused with the main menu secret message that gives the cheat for invincibility. When the audio is reversed, the Chef seems to say something along the lines of “That was fun, wasn’t it?” in a UK accent. In the GXT files for Deliverence, the last dialogue said which is unused is “Hello kiddies” which could be referring to this scene. This being the post credits scene could’ve been a reference to the original Frisbee puppet concept for Manhunt 2, which would’ve had a puppet seemingly from a kids show telling the player to kill people.
The Chef’s voice actor may be Will Morton, the dialogue engineer for Manhunt who also did the Psycho’s voice in Vice City right after Hunter Platin did the performance. However, Rockstar didn’t like it, which explains the Chef’s UK/Scottish accent.
