Trivia[]

  • The Sniper Rifle has a laser sight when equipped by enemies.
  • The Sniper Rifle is one of only three scoped weapons in the series, the others being the Tranquilizer Rifle and the Crossbow.
  • The Sniper Rifle's shooting sound originally sounded different in Manhunt 2. The original sound can be heard in the video of Leo killing a Project Militia on the official website.
  • Originally there was going to be either a second, PSG-1 Sniper Rifle or the Sniper Rifle was planned to be a PSG-1. The textures are left in Manhunt's files, while Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' files contains the model.
  • Like the Shotgun, the Sniper Rifle inflicts high damage, but it is slower to load in comparison and does not target Hunters like other firearms, making it unreliable in heavy gunfights.
  • The Sniper Rifle icon in Manhunt is a developer oversight, since it was meant for the cut PSG-1.
  • There was a "silenced" version of the Sniper Rifle known as Silenced Sniper Rifle in Manhunt, but it was cut for unknown reasons.
  • In the PS2/PSP versions of Manhunt 2, the execution does not cause a head explosion, due to the toned-down Mature rating.
  • The weapon is modeled after the Enfield Enforcer L42A1, an older rifle used by British military and police forces in the 1970-1990s.
