"You're doing great, kid. Grade A stuff. Now find your way to the cellar door."
- The Director

Road to Ruin is the 3rd scene in Manhunt and Cash's third and final encounter with the Hoods.

Mission[]

Manhunt 2011-03-21 17-38-35-12

Cash ambushed by the Cerberus in the ending cutscene

By this point after Born Again and Doorway to Hell, Cash has made much progress in destroying the Hoods gang and now must make his way to the cellar of the Carcer City Library. He makes his way through the streets and buildings, killing all the Hoods in his way.

Cash finds the remaining Hoods lurking in the cellar. After dispatching them and now bringing the gang into extinction, he heads out to the street where he is suddenly confronted by the Cerberus, professional mercenaries hired by Starkweather to take Cash to the next location. Cash takes a beating from them and is thrown in the back of a van.

Trivia[]

  • This level features a broken shadow. It can be found at the alley behind the library. Entering it won't make Cash invisible for the Hunters. This glitch also appears in Hard as Nails.
  • The public toilet towards the beginning is very similar the one in Belleville Park in Grand Theft Auto III.
  • The Hard as Nails bonus scene is based on this level.
  • This is the first scene in Manhunt where James Earl Cash speaks. As he runs into the Cerberus, Cash says "Oh, shit!"
  • There is no glass shard in this level if the player didn't keep one from Doorway into Hell.
  • This is one of several levels in the game where it is not necessary to use Gruesome executions to get the maximum 5 star rating. Eight Violets, one Hasty, and two without executions is enough to achieve it.
  • This is the only level where the player does not necessarily have to kill all the enemies to complete it. It is possible to lure the last few Hoods away from the final gate by luring them to the area with 5 body bags and walk past them without being spotted.
  • Unlike Doorway to Hell, some graffiti reading "Die" was removed from this scene.
  • This scene has a total of 11 Hunters.
