"These pricks call themselves the Wardogs—real dickless gung-ho losers. You're gonna have to tool up if you're gonna make it—take it slow and see what you can take from these guys."
- The Director

Grounds for Assault is the sixth scene in Manhunt where James Earl Cash arrives at Carcer City Zoo, where he has his first encounter with the Wardogs.

Mission[]

Manhunt 2011-06-28 11-33-23-29

The Wardogs taking orders from Ramirez, their leader, in the opening cutscene

After leaving the Junkyard, Cash is dropped off at the Zoo where a gang of survivalists and war veterans called the Wardogs are waiting for him. Unlike the Hoods and Skinz from before, the Wardogs are armed to the teeth with Machetes and firearms, making the death row inmate's journey becoming much more dangerous here on.

Cash starts with no weapons and must find a way to kill the nearby Hunters to get a Machete, which he uses to cut through a door to proceed. He then finds himself in a large area filled with Wardogs and soon finds the next gate only to find its chain-locked, and must find a hidden Crowbar at the bear pen to open it.

Cash now finds the Wardogs armed with a Tranquilizer Rifle and kills them, before opening another locked gate. He then kills the remaining Hunters and makes his way to the next part of the Zoo.

Trivia[]

Manhunt 2011-06-28 11-32-39-53

The Cerberus feeding Piggsy human remains in the scene's opening

  • The opening cutscene of this level is known for marking the introduction of the Piggsy from the player's perspective, an infamous antagonist character who was formerly the snuff film star for Lionel Starkweather before James Earl Cash. Here, he is seen being reluctantly feed by the Cerberus human remains as a way of disposing those he killed prior while chained up.
  • Once Cash cuts through the first locked door, there will be a corridor and to the left is a chain-locked door. Once he has the Crowbar later in the mission, come back and open that door and inside is a Sawn-Off Shotgun with three shells.
  • According to the Wardogs artwork of the Zoo Sniper, the Silenced Sniper Rifle was meant to be carried by some Wardogs. It was likely replaced by the Tranquilizer Rifle, as the Wardogs were already shown to have another Sniper Rifle in their other artwork.
  • The place on the right is a hidden area and has a hidden Can. It can be reached by Oob Glitch, but this is difficult to get out without the God Mode cheat or via trainer.
  • There are a total of 17 Hunters in this scene.
